Youtube launches citizen reporting center

Youtube just launched its own citizen reporting recource called the Reporters' Center.   Several high profile journalists such as Bob Woodward of the Washington Post and Arrianna Huffington have produced videos with tips for citizen reporters.  New York Time's columnist Nick Kristof says rule number one when covering an international crisis "come back alive."

Meanwhile the Sentinel continues with its own exploration into a possible non-profit wing called Portland Media Lab that would promote citizen reporting and professional journalism.  The Lab currently defines reporting as the gathering and relaying of information from the field and journalism as investigative branch of the news media.
