Home Stretch, Amigos! (or, the weekend's almost here! What to do?)
~Diversion Division

Two hours till freedom, 9-to-5ers! But what to do this weekend besides get doused at a water fountain and soused at a BBQ? Well, that sounds pretty darned good to me...can I come?
For those of you who insist on, y'know, going out, here are some suggestions from The Sentinel's newly launched Diversion Division:
-ED WOOD MEETS ELECTRONICA! If I weren't stuck here in production tonight (the things we do for you people!), this would be my pick: the Hollywood Theatre in NE is showing the Ed Wood B-movie classic "Plan 9 From Outer Space"...with "a soundtrack of live strings, electronica, and voice actors." eeeeeeee!!!!! Brought to you by the geniuses at Filmusik. 7 p.m. 4122 NE Sandy. Tickets $10.
-LOCAL TALENT GALORE! Horse Feathers and Justin Power bring their lovely acoustic stylings to Mississippi Studios tonight, where they'll be joined by CA band The Botticellis. 9 p.m. 3939 N. Mississippi. Tickets $13.
-COMMUNITY CARNIVAL! Celebrate summer this Saturday at the Sitton Elementary Spring Carnival with games, raffles, cotton candy and more. 1 p.m.- 4 p.m. 9930 N. Smith.
-ANGELIC WARRIORS! Everyone's favorite neighborhood New Agers at the Crystal Temple invite you to spend your Saturday night getting a personal introduction to your guardian angel...whatever that means. See our event calendar listing for more info. 7:30 p.m. 7525 N. Richmond. $20.
Happy weekend!
